LLRC Classroom Research Grants DescriptionThe Lancaster-Lebanon Reading Council invites K-12 teachers, who are LLRC members, to submit proposals for small grants (up to $500) for classroom-based research on the teaching of reading. In classroom Action Research, teachers collect data from reading experiences, use it in research, and provide evidence that the strategies used make a difference. For example, teachers examine what they are doing, consider alternatives, and observe the potential of the changes in practice. The investigation of research questions should grow out of classroom experiences and concerns and should be directly relevant to the work of the applicant. The grants are not intended to support the following:
Submit the attached application form and the requested information to: Applicants who meet the December 15 deadline can expect a response in January. Funding is awarded in two phases: 50% initial payment upon approval of the proposal and 50% upon submission of a brief final report by the applicant.
